4 Ways To Live Your Healthiest

Live your healthiest

Do you truly want to live? Of course, you do! Yet, to live, we need our health to be on point. Okay, you know that you want to live life to the fullest, but you are uncertain how to get your health on track.

This is life’s important question. How can I get the most out of life?

Here is the simple answer. To live, it just comes down to what you do and do not do. How can it be that simple you ask?

Let’s check out how a simple decision can impact your health in one year.

The Why

You have the choice of adding or reducing your caloric intake by 10 calories per day. Wow! 10 calories is not much, right? If you choose to eat 10 more additional calories each day for one year, you will gain 1 pound. Conversely, if you subtract 10 calories a day, you would lose 1 pound. Yeah, 1 pound is no big deal. However, if you keep adding an additional 10 calories each day every year, year two you would now be up 3 pounds and by year five you would be up to 31 extra pounds. Now, that could cause a huge negative impact on your health, don’t you think?

The Rant

For a quick rant and an understanding of the passion behind this blog, there was a study that is predicting that by 2030, 49% of Americans will be obese. WHAT! We are the most powerful nation yet if that prediction comes to pass, that shows a great weakness. Yes, weakness! We have been given the gift of freedom of choice and we are more and more choosing the easy route when it comes to our health. Why? It is simple. We do not look at long term consequences. If it does not hurt us today, what is the harm? That is the wrong way to look at life if you want to live.

Let’s get back to how we can be better every today and tomorrow.

Sometimes our decisions are so innate and simple we do not even recognize we made a choice. Let’s look at some solutions that are easy and can make a big impact in our future lives.

4 Actions for Today and Everday

  1. Pay attention to even you most subtle actions. If you are doing things unconsciously, you cannot be sure whether they are harmful or beneficial. Take time during each day to evaluate your every behavior and decision.
  2. Plan simple actions. Remember, it is about the Do’s in life. Even if you start with 10 minute bouts of exercise every day, that over time will yield greater returns than not.
  3. Be patient with the process. Sadly, we live in a time of instant gratification. Yet, health related results just do not work that way. To get the results you want, it is a day in and day out process of good choices and the right actions.
  4. Avoidance of pitfalls. Truthfully, who knows you better than you do? So, use that knowledge to fend off those unwanted pressures. This is not easy, but you first need to identify your challenges and then make a plan to sway you in the right direction.

Ready, set, action! Even in life, we can have retakes. If that is where you are, that is okay. This time make sure your choices and actions are congruent with your goals. It is “DO” time to achieve those goals you have always wanted or tried to hit. The time is yours to live your healthiest. Rise and shine, my fitness friends!
